BIRKENSTOCK DEBUTS NEW CONCEPT STORE IN SANDTON
CITY

Johannesburg, 6 October 2021 – BIRKENSTOCK, the German lifestyle brand with a heritage in
iconic footwear, is strengthening its retail presence in South Africa with the launch of a new concept
store in Sandton City, providing the brand with a premium home to serve its passionate and growing
customer base in Johannesburg. As the inventor of the footbed, BIRKENSTOCK is popularly known
for its exceptional comfort and high functionality based on a history that can be traced as far back as
1774.

This expansion comes as a testimony to surging demand of our loyal and new customers across
South Africa. The new BIRKENSTOCK stores are aesthetically created, keeping in mind the rich
history and legacy of the brand and at prime consumer locations to ensure maximum visibility.
The retail space carries footwear in an abundance of materials, colours and styles, suitably tailored
for women and men, while a dedicated BIRKENSTOCK Kid’s area ensures this store will be a
premium destination for families. Expect to find timeless footwear styles such as the Arizona, Gizeh
and Madrid, as well as new styles within the Shiny Python collection and the popular Big Buckle range
in leather. In addition to the iconic sandal styles for which BIRKENSTOCK is famous, the Sandton
store will also stock shoes, socks and belts.

The Sandton store follows the launch of the BIRKENSTOCK’S concept store at Cavendish Square,
Cape Town, in February 2021.

The new store in Sandton City joins the BIRKENSTOCK portfolio of retail stores in the V&A
Waterfront, Cavendish Square, Somerset Mall, Morningside and Menlyn.
