A.B.T a Cape Town based rap artist DROPS a New EP called Ellipses

With over a year in music, A.B.T (Athenkosi Brian Tshoni) decided to drop an ep following his monthly singles that he dropped as a build up to the ep.

This is an ep that speaks on various things that I am exposed to and experienced in my upbringing and overall surroundings. It provides hope to the many hopeless township children who may feel discouraged because of their environment.

Despite it being a concise body of work, it touches on various subject matters that are relatable to the masses, from poverty, gangsterism, absent father to love…so there’s something for everyone.

The first song, Ingcambhu (The Roots) speaks on essentially that, A.B.T’s upbringings (roots) and the hardships he faced with his mother in a township neighbourhood of Phillipi, Cape Town.

The second song, Keke is a love song that’s a vibe and very lyrical. It paints a picture of Bonie and Clyde depiction of a couple.

The third song, Mama Ndicela Intshiza (Interlude) speaks on the type of environment one gets exposed to in the township/hood and how success is seemingly attained by those that commit crime.

The fourth song, D.F.W.A.N. is a very egotistical song that has the cliché rapper façade that emphasise on how A.B.T is the best when it comes to rapping or overall lyricism.

The fifth and final song, Black Man essentially ties everything up and has a beautiful ending from the initial song as it speaks on the relationship or lack thereof with his father in a positive light and how they are seemingly working on it. Due to this, he is also opting to be a better man and trying to achieve all his dreams and desires.

Produced by Litha Phillip (Mofu_Beatz) Ellipses is a well-rounded body of work that any everyday listener can find a gem in and a source of inspiration.
