Curated. is a unique shopping experience and a great way to discover and explore the work of artisans and makers in Gauteng. Held from 4 pm to 11 pm on the 1st Friday of every month, it's family-friendly and free with live music, delicious food, artisan & makers stalls, workshops, exhibitions, and tours at the best historic locations in the city. We strive to create a vibrant and engaging marketplace that celebrates our region's culture and history. It's a great opportunity to support local artisans and makers and find one-of-a-kind items and a fun and exciting way to spend an evening out. Our night markets offer a chance to get outside and enjoy the seasonal charm in a safe and secure historical space. Have a drink, do a little shopping, and just be outdoors. For its launch, the Curated. The market was thrilled to team up with the legendary Obrigado lifestyle event. Known for its eclectic take on music in Jozi culture bringing the heat with Afro Latin; Afrobeats from soul to funk and everything in-between! Visitors to the market kicked off the weekend with an event that delivered the perfect family outing. Offering a special children's zone programmed by Play Africa parents can look forward to spending quality time with the entire family in style. In addition to the diverse range of handmade goods, the Curated. Makers Market also featured a curated selection of local food vendors offering delectable treats and refreshments. From gourmet snacks to artisanal beverages, visitors can indulge in a culinary journey while exploring the market and taking in the vibrant atmosphere. Our market also offered a wide array of pantry essentials and fresh flowers! It was the perfect opportunity to support local businesses while stocking up on your weekly pantry and adding a touch of beauty to your home. This is no ordinary museum shop, it's curated by incubates from our museum artisan program who created products that speak to the iconic, heritage site. Now it's open for You to purchase locally made products and & contribute to the creative economy. We would love to thank the Gauteng MEC, Tasneem Motara, the CEO of Gauteng Enterprise Propeller, Saki Zamxaka their teams, and our fellow colleagues for supporting the launch of the store. Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival 2023 is Back! The Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival is Back! Join us on the 24th of June 2023. Phase one of the line-up is jam-packed with some of South Africa's best shining stars! The music festival on the 24th of June 23 opens at 10h00, festivalgoers can enjoy a full day at the Curated Market with a line-up of DJs; performances; activations; food stalls, and bars.
