Every Friday, the underground rises. BoomFriday is a weekly musical ritual that gives the spotlight to South Africa’s most raw, unfiltered, and boundary-pushing DJs. From dusty backrooms to off-the-grid studios, these selectors bring their sound, their energy, and their identity to one stage — no limits, no algorithms, just pure music.

This isn’t your mainstream Friday night. BoomFriday is for the diggers, the heads, and the curious. We host underground and backroom DJs from across South Africa to showcase their personal selections — sounds you won’t hear on commercial radio or chart-topping playlists. Think deep house, old-school kwaito blends, Afro-electronic experiments, gqom mutations, alt-trap, jazz edits, or unexpected flips that make your chest rattle and your spirit move.
