H&M’s New Platform Spotlights Global Style and Self-Expression, Starting in New York
H&M Launches a Global Style Platform in 2026
H&M is kicking off 2026 with a bold new global platform celebrating self-expression, culture, and the unmistakable style DNA of cities around the world. The initiative begins in New York City, capturing the people, fashion, and energy that define one of the world’s most influential style capitals.
This rolling campaign will travel across four major cities in 2026, documenting how fashion shapes identity in each location. After New York, the series will head to Rio de Janeiro for H&M&Rio, with additional global stops to be announced throughout the year.
H&M New York: A Portrait of Identity and Expression
Shot by acclaimed photographer Rafael Pavarotti, the New York chapter presents a vibrant mix of well-known cultural figures and everyday individuals cast directly from the streets of NYC.
The campaign places icons and unknown faces on equal footing, reinforcing H&M’s long-standing democratic vision of fashion.
Featured names include:
- Ice Spice
- John Turturro
- Liya Kebede
- Paloma Elsesser
- Kareem Rahma
- Jay Guapo
- Lynn Yaeger
Through a series of studio portraits and short films, participants reflect on what personal style means to them and how New York influences their fashion identity.

The Spirit of New York Through Fashion
According to Rafael Pavarotti, the campaign reflects the raw authenticity of the city:
“Every time you walk through New York you meet people like this. People who are striking without trying… Avant-garde, poetic and real. This is the spirit of the city for me.”
Ice Spice echoes that sentiment, highlighting how the city shapes self-expression:
“One of the best things about New York is the style. You get inspired every day by the unique characters you see out and about.”
This blend of perspectives reinforces the message that fashion is not a single aesthetic — it is a collection of diverse identities.
H&M’s Democratic Vision of Fashion
Jörgen Andersson, Chief Creative Officer at H&M, describes the platform as a natural evolution of the brand’s global explorations into community-driven style:
“The blend of characters cements the democratic vision of fashion that has always defined H&M.”
The 2026 platform underscores three core values:
- Self-expression
- Individuality
- Cultural diversity
Rather than dictating trends, the series spotlights how people define fashion for themselves.
When Does H&M New York Launch?
H&M & New York premieres on 26 February 2026 across H&M’s official channels. The campaign will continue throughout the year as it moves to new global destinations, starting with Rio de Janeiro.
