Kwa Baba Teasers: Mhlaba, Dumisani and the Mkhize Logistics Power Struggle
Last updated: 2 October 2026
The power struggle inside the Mkhize family continues on Kwa Baba, with Mhlaba, Dumisani and Mkhize Logistics at the centre of one of the telenovela’s biggest storylines.
The drama reached a major turning point in Episode 80, when MaMbokazi stripped Dumisani of his power at Mkhize Logistics. Dumisani’s attempt to regain his position subsequently failed, while Mhlaba has been forced to deal with the consequences of the family conflict.
The story has since expanded beyond the battle for the company. Zwelakhe’s search for his biological father has intensified, Mhlaba and Nelisiwe’s marriage has come under pressure, and October teasers point towards a new concern surrounding Mhlaba’s health.

What Happens to Mhlaba and Dumisani?
The conflict between Mhlaba and Dumisani remains one of the central Kwa Baba storylines.
Their rivalry had been building throughout September, with Mhlaba repeatedly challenging his father’s authority before MaMbokazi ultimately removed Dumisani from his position at Mkhize Logistics.
Dumisani’s subsequent attempt to reclaim the CEO position failed, leaving him struggling to adjust to his loss of influence.
Mhlaba, meanwhile, has been trying to prove himself and repair the damage caused by the family conflict.
That storyline continues into the next phase of the show, with October previews indicating that Mhlaba’s health becomes a growing concern and that the family begins searching for answers about what is happening to him.
Mkhize Logistics Power Struggle Explained
Mkhize Logistics has become one of the main battlegrounds in Kwa Baba.
Dumisani’s attempts to control the company and preserve his influence repeatedly bring him into conflict with Mhlaba and MaMbokazi.
The conflict reaches its biggest September turning point in Episode 80, when MaMbokazi fires Dumisani.
But his removal does not end the dispute.
Instead, the fallout affects the entire Mkhize family, with Dumisani looking for ways to regain his position while Mhlaba attempts to establish himself.
Zwelakhe Finally Finds His Father
While the Mkhize Logistics storyline dominates one side of the drama, Zwelakhe’s search for his biological father becomes increasingly important.
After months of searching, he finally comes face-to-face with his father in Episode 86.
The meeting does not provide an easy resolution. Instead, the revelation creates another layer of conflict as questions around Zwelakhe’s identity and paternity move towards the elders.
By Episode 88, Zwelakhe’s father has escalated the paternity issue to the elders.
This storyline is now positioned alongside the Mhlaba and Dumisani conflict as one of the show’s major continuing arcs.
What Happens to Mhlaba and Nelisiwe?
Mhlaba’s problems are no longer limited to his relationship with Dumisani.
His marriage to Nelisiwe is also under pressure.
Episode 84 introduces a major marital problem between the couple, while Episode 85 sees Nelisiwe take matters into her own hands in an attempt to solve Mhlaba’s problem.
By Episode 88, Zandile learns that the marriage is effectively hanging by a thread.
The October storyline adds another layer, with Mhlaba’s health becoming a major concern as the family looks for answers.
Kwa Baba October 2026: What to Expect
The September cliffhangers carry directly into October.
The next phase of Kwa Baba is expected to continue exploring:
- Mhlaba’s worsening health concerns
- The mystery surrounding the source of Mhlaba’s suffering
- Dumisani’s struggle to deal with losing his position and influence
- Zwelakhe’s relationship with his biological father
- The consequences of Zwelakhe’s paternity revelation
- Mhlaba and Nelisiwe’s troubled marriage
- Khethiwe and Mxolisi’s deteriorating relationship
- MaMbokazi’s continuing family secrets
The October storyline therefore moves the show beyond the original Mkhize Logistics power struggle and into a wider set of family revelations and personal crises.
