Levi’s x McLaren Racing Collection Brings Speed to Denim
San Francisco, October 14, 2024 — Speed, heritage and street style collide again as Levi’s® and McLaren Racing return with their second collaborative collection, bringing the visual language of modern motorsport into the world of denim.
Following the debut collaboration launched in July around the British Grand Prix, the latest Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection takes cues from the aesthetics, technology and energy of contemporary McLaren Racing.
Rather than simply putting racing graphics on classic denim, the collaboration reworks familiar Levi’s® silhouettes through a motorsport lens, introducing contrasting panels, technical finishes, racing-inspired details and McLaren branding across a full apparel and accessories lineup.
A Racing-Inspired Take on Levi’s Icons
At the centre of the collection is the Track Trucker, a denim bomber-inspired interpretation of the classic Levi’s® Trucker jacket.
The piece features contrasting panels across the chest and back, a contrasting ribbed collar and hem, and direct “McLaren Racing” embroidery on the front left chest.
It is paired with the Sports 501® Jeans, which reinterpret the contemporary classic 501® ‘93 Straight Fit. Contrasting denim runs across the waistband, while direct embroidery appears on the wearer’s left leg.
Both pieces feature a custom black rubberized Two Horse patch inspired by the look of a racing chassis plaque.
Speed Meets Streetwear
The collection pushes further into racing territory with the black Speed Trucker.
Inspired by traditional racing jackets, the style features a double-snap throat latch, waistband snap and self-piping that emphasizes its streamlined construction. The women’s version carries McLaren Racing branding on the left chest and a two-way centre-front zipper.
The matching Speed Jeans are based on the loose-fitting Baggy Dad silhouette. Side panels and self-piping give the jeans a distinctly motorsport-inspired character, while a rubberized co-branded back patch and leg embroidery complete the look.
Gloss, Graphics and McLaren F1 Energy
Beyond denim, the collection explores the visual language of racing through technical-looking finishes and bold graphics.
The Second Skin takes inspiration from McLaren Racing’s modular prints, arriving as an orange long-sleeve mock neck with a high-gloss, high-sheen finish.
The loose-fitting Constructors Tee celebrates McLaren Racing’s history with laurels commemorating its victories, alongside the signatures of Bruce McLaren and Levi Strauss and a clamp label.
The Fleece Hoodie combines a heather-gray body with a black fleece panel and raglan sleeves. Its high-gloss silicone-print treatment gives the piece a distinctive finish, while a custom L tab and back graphic add another layer of branding.
The relaxed-fit Long Sleeve Graphic Tee continues the racing theme with a photo print of a McLaren F1 car, alongside a back-neck label, clamp label and side-seam L tab.
Completing the lineup is the Speed Bandana, an oversized sateen accessory featuring the same McLaren F1 graphic and a clamp label in the corner.
