PUMA Mayze Lth Pop: The Mayze Gets a Pastel Makeover
Before the Mayze Stack pushed the silhouette into an even more exaggerated platform direction, PUMA was already exploring how far it could take the Mayze.
The Mayze Lth Pop arrived in 2022 as one of the franchise’s more colourful iterations, with Dua Lipa wearing the style as PUMA continued to build the Mayze into one of its key women’s sneaker franchises. PUMA officially introduced the Mayze Lth Pop on April 1, 2022.
The sneaker kept the bold proportions that made the Mayze immediately recognisable, but added a more playful treatment through pastel colour accents and layered construction.
A Familiar Mayze With More Going On
The Mayze Lth Pop features the signature stacked sole, but its construction gives the sneaker considerably more visual depth.
PUMA used a split, derby-style construction through the stacked midsole, alongside a TPU heel component and heel tab. The upper was built from leather, drawing on elements from PUMA’s archive while keeping the overall silhouette firmly contemporary.
The result was a Mayze that felt more fashion-forward without losing the chunky platform profile that defined the franchise.
Pastel accents provided the colour hit, while the layered tooling gave the sneaker a more technical and dimensional appearance.
Dua Lipa and the Mayze
The Mayze Lth Pop also continued the relationship between the sneaker and Dua Lipa.
Dua Lipa had already fronted PUMA’s first Mayze campaign in 2021, when the brand introduced the silhouette as a women’s sneaker inspired by archive PUMA styles and updated with a bold stacked sole.
By 2022, the Mayze had become an important part of PUMA’s women’s Sportstyle offering, with Lipa continuing to feature prominently in the brand’s Mayze campaigns. PUMA later noted that Lipa led campaigns for the Mayze and other successful women’s styles during 2022.
That connection helped position the Mayze beyond a straightforward lifestyle sneaker. It became part of the wider conversation around oversized footwear, Y2K-inspired styling and the return of chunky platform silhouettes.
Mayze Lth Pop Release
The PUMA Mayze Lth Pop launched in April 2022 through PUMA.com, PUMA stores and selected retailers.
The original South African retail price was R1,899.
For the Mayze franchise, it represented another step in PUMA’s strategy of taking one recognisable silhouette and pushing it into different colours, materials and proportions.
And that evolution would continue with styles such as the Mayze Stack, which took the platform concept even further.
The Mayze Lth Pop was less about reinventing the Mayze and more about showing just how much personality could be built into the same silhouette.
