Siya Kolisi Gets His Own Nando’s Sauce – Here’s What It Tastes Like

Nando’s Launches Siya Sauce with Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi

The limited-edition Nando’s Siya Sauce arrives at restaurants across South Africa on 3 November 2026, bringing together local flavour, art and the spirit of the festive season.

Nando’s is bringing a new flavour to the table this festive season with the launch of Siya Sauce, a limited-edition collaboration with Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.

Officially unveiled on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at the opening of Nando’s new flagship restaurant in Stellenbosch, the sauce will be available at Nando’s restaurants nationwide from Tuesday, 3 November 2026.

And despite carrying the name of one of South Africa’s toughest rugby captains, Siya Sauce is not about bringing the heat.

Developed alongside Kolisi and inspired by his favourite flavours, the sauce combines rich garlic, bright citrus notes and a gentle smoky finish. The result is a milder flavour created for South Africans with different tastes and preferences.

What does Sauce taste like?

According to Nando’s, Siya Sauce features a combination of garlic, citrus and subtle smokiness, with a mild heat profile.

The sauce was developed with Kolisi’s personal preferences in mind, with the aim of creating something versatile enough to enjoy with different meals.

Speaking about the collaboration, Kolisi said:

“Developing this sauce was so much fun. Nando’s has that South African spirit, and we got to explore local flavour while connecting with the people behind the process. A few samples later, we landed on something I could eat every day, on pretty much everything. That was the one for me.”

He added that he was excited for South Africans to experience the new sauce.

South African illustrator Mpho Boshoga brings Siya Sauce to life

The collaboration also puts local creative talent in the spotlight through Pretoria-based illustrator Mpho Boshoga, whose expressive, street-culture-inspired artwork features on the Siya Sauce bottle.

Boshoga’s involvement continues Nando’s long-standing support for South African artists and creative communities, with the brand regularly using its restaurants and campaigns as platforms for local artistic expression.

For the illustrator, the project represents an opportunity to bring his creative style into a collaboration involving two recognisable South African names.

“Being part of this project is a life-changing opportunity to bring my artistic creativity into a space that’s all about culture, community and a whole lot of flavour,” Boshoga said.

He described working with Nando’s and Siya Kolisi as an opportunity he had previously only dreamed of.

Nando’s makes Siya Sauce available for free nationwide

For Nando’s, the new sauce is also about bringing people together during the festive season.

Jessica Wheeler, Chief Brand and Customer Officer at Nando’s, said the collaboration was designed to give customers something new to enjoy when gathering around the table.

She described Kolisi as someone South Africans can connect with and said the sauce was created to be enjoyed generously.

Importantly, Nando’s Siya Sauce will be available for free at Nando’s restaurants nationwide for a limited time, while stocks last.

Customers can ask for the sauce when visiting participating Nando’s restaurants.

Siya Kolisi’s real friends feature in new Nando’s advert

The advert stars Siv Ngesi, Sobantu Nqayi, Ray Malo, Vafa Naraghi, Nina Hastie, Jam Jam and Anton Taylor.

Built around the familiar South African experience of gathering around a table, the campaign captures the conversations, humour and shared moments that make meals with friends and family memorable.
