Sneaker news: PUMA Mostro turns up the heat in two new colourways

PUMA MOSTRO TWO PERFORATED-LEATHER COLORWAYS

PUMA Mostro Drops in Two Perforated-Leather Colorways

Cape Town, South Africa — 11 July 2024PUMA continues to turn up the heat with the seasonal release of its low-top Mostro silhouette.

Reimagined as a second skin, the Mostro returns in a new pack featuring two premium perforated-leather styles in monochromatic colourways.

Combining white and black colour blocking across the upper, the latest Mostro takes on one of its cleanest looks yet. The low-profile silhouette retains its defining features, including its signature spiked sole and versatile strap closure.

A 25-Year-Old PUMA Icon

First introduced in 1999, the Mostro takes its name from the Italian word for “monster”, reflecting the shoe’s unconventional and hybrid design.

The original silhouette drew inspiration from two very different worlds — the sleek, aggressive sprinting spikes of the 1960s and the laid-back surfing shoes of the 1980s.

To celebrate the silhouette’s 25th anniversary, PUMA recently reached into its archives to bring the Mostro back, introducing a new generation to one of the brand’s most experimental designs.

The latest chapter continues to embrace the shoe’s originality and rebellious attitude, with a series of sun-soaked visuals captured in Marseille, France.

The New PUMA Mostro

The new perforated-leather versions give the Mostro a more refined appearance while maintaining the unconventional character that has made the silhouette stand out.

The monochromatic colour palette adds versatility to the shoe, while the low-profile construction, spiked outsole and strap closure preserve its distinctive identity.

The result is a Mostro that feels equally at home within contemporary streetwear and PUMA’s performance-inspired archive.

The latest PUMA Mostro became available from 13 July 2024 at Shelflife.
