Sweet Guluva Claims The R2m Grand Prize Umlilo Finale
After 72 days of strategic gameplay, alliances, unexpected twists and unforgettable moments, Big Brother Mzansi Season 5: Umlilo has officially come to an end, with Sweet Guluva crowned the winner and taking home the R2 million grand prize.
From the moment the 24 housemates entered the Big Brother Mzansi house, the competition was anyone’s game. This season introduced a number of twists that kept both the housemates and viewers guessing, including a format that saw housemates vote for one of their own to leave the house immediately.
The season delivered its share of unexpected departures, including a disqualification, while Lottostar games and contested Head of House challenges added further pressure as the housemates battled for safety, power and a place in the finale.
The Final Five Battle It Out
As the competition entered its final stages, the remaining five housemates faced the biggest test of the season. With the R2 million prize within reach, every decision carried greater weight as the finalists fought to win over the viewers.
One by one, the finalists left the Big Brother Mzansi house until the final two remained. They then joined this season’s host, Smash Afrika, on the live finale stage for the final moments of the competition.
After 72 days inside the house, Sweet Guluva emerged as the ultimate winner of Big Brother Mzansi Season 5: Umlilo.
Big Brother Mzansi Finale Watch Party
The excitement extended beyond the live finale as guests gathered at the Big Brother Mzansi Finale Watch Party at Maracana Restaurant to experience the final moments together.
Stakeholders, special guests, family members and supporters came together for an evening filled with anticipation, celebration and plenty of Big Brother Mzansi energy.
The red carpet was hosted by Big Brother Mzansi Season 4 alumni Yolanda Mukondi and Sinaye Kotobe, who welcomed a star-studded guest list that included Nay Maps, Sannah Mchunu and Wright Ngubeni, among others.
Inside the venue, Sol Phenduka, himself a Big Brother Mzansi alumnus, and Dimpho M kept the crowd entertained as the finale unfolded on screen.
Mzansi’s Biggest Stars Take the Finale Stage
Music was also a major part of the celebration, with performances from some of South Africa’s biggest names.
The finale featured performances from Kwesta, LeeMcKrazy, Zee Nxumalo and DJ Kaygo, adding another layer of entertainment to an already memorable night and continuing Big Brother Mzansi’s tradition of bringing local music and entertainment to its live shows.
