Kelvin Momo, DJ Kent and DBN Gogo Lead the Bill
Kelvin Momo brings his soulful and immersive approach to Amapiano to the Cabo Beach stage, while DJ Kent represents the lineage of South African house music.
DBN Gogo joins the lineup as one of the artists associated with the continued evolution of contemporary Amapiano, while DJ Lag brings the distinctive energy of Gqom to the event.
The combination gives The Groove Room’s first standalone Cape Town edition a lineup that stretches across different corners of South African dance music.
MÖRDA B2B DJ Zinhle
One of the most notable sets on the lineup will see MÖRDA go back-to-back with DJ Zinhle.
The pairing brings two established names from South Africa’s dance music culture together behind the decks for a special B2B set.
It is one of the defining moments of a lineup designed to connect different generations and sounds within African electronic music.
The Groove Room Comes to Cabo Beach
The Groove Room’s Cape Town edition marks a new chapter for the concept.
What began as a dedicated stage within ULTRA South Africa has developed into an experience with its own identity, sound and community.
The move to a standalone event gives The Groove Room the opportunity to build an experience around more than the artists on the bill, incorporating music, movement, fashion, production and the wider culture of the dancefloor.
For its Cape Town debut, Cabo Beach will become the setting for that experience, with the event running from the late afternoon into the early hours of the following morning.
A New Chapter for The Groove Room
The Groove Room was created as a dedicated platform for African electronic music within ULTRA South Africa.
Over time, the stage developed a following of its own, with the music becoming part of a wider experience shaped by dancers, fashion, movement and the energy of the crowd.
Its first standalone Cape Town edition takes that concept outside the festival environment and gives it a venue and production setting of its own.
According to Shaun Duwe, CEO of Anything Goes, the move happened organically as audiences began connecting with the wider experience around the music.
The standalone edition will also feature technical production designed specifically for The Groove Room, with sound, stage design and production forming part of the experience at Cabo Beach.
