WAV Festival 2027 Lineup
The first two artists announced for WAV Festival 2027 are:
Ty Dolla $ign
Ty Dolla $ign is the biggest international name announced for WAV so far.
The Los Angeles artist has spent more than a decade moving between R&B, hip-hop and pop, becoming one of the most recognisable voices in contemporary melodic music.
His extensive collaboration history has put him alongside some of the biggest artists in global music, while his solo catalogue has established him as an artist in his own right.
His appearance gives WAV Festival an immediate international headline act as the festival builds its 2027 programme.
KWN
KWN is also part of the first WAV Festival 2027 lineup announcement.
Her inclusion adds another dimension to the festival’s R&B-focused programme, which is being built around contemporary sounds and the relationship between African and global music culture.
More WAV Festival 2027 Artists Are Coming
The lineup isn’t complete yet.
WAV’s official announcement currently lists:
TY DOLLA $IGN
KWN
+ more coming to WAV. 2027
That means fans can expect additional artist announcements before the January festival.
This article will be updated as each new act is officially announced.

What Is WAV Festival?
WAV Festival describes itself as R&B reimagined through an African lens.
Rather than positioning itself simply as another music festival, WAV brings together R&B, fashion and culture, with a focus on African and diasporic creativity.
The festival’s goal is to connect global artists, audiences and culture through a shared appreciation of R&B while celebrating the genre’s roots and exploring its future.
That positioning makes the festival particularly interesting for South Africa’s growing R&B audience.
Why Ty Dolla $ign Is a Big Booking
Ty Dolla $ign gives WAV an artist with genuine crossover appeal.
His music sits comfortably between contemporary R&B and hip-hop, while his extensive list of collaborations means his audience stretches far beyond a single genre.
For a festival built around R&B, bringing in an artist with that kind of reach immediately gives the first lineup announcement weight.
And with more names still to come, the eventual 2027 bill could look considerably bigger once the remaining artists are revealed.
