Windhoek Lager 330ml Returns With 340ml Music Collab
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Windhoek Lager is bringing back its 330ml bottle permanently, and to celebrate, South African band 340ml is temporarily becoming 330ml.
The limited-edition collaboration brings together beer, live music and South African culture through a new series of intimate experiences called Windhoek Beer’s Midweek Sessions.
For the campaign, 340ml will take on the name 330ml, creating a playful connection between the band and the returning Windhoek Lager bottle.
Windhoek Lager and 340ml Come Together
The collaboration is built around a shared idea of authenticity.
Windhoek Lager has long positioned itself around its 100% Real Beer message, while 340ml has established itself as one of South Africa’s distinctive musical acts through its original sound and the chemistry between its four members.
The partnership also arrives at an important moment for 340ml, with the musicians recently coming together again to return to performing live gigs.
“Windhoek and 340ml share a belief in keeping things real,” says Keval Ramraj, Marketing Manager at Windhoek Beer South Africa.
According to Ramraj, the return of Windhoek’s 330ml Lager bottle coincided with the band’s return to performing, creating an opportunity to bring the two stories together through music.

What Are Windhoek Midweek Sessions?
The partnership will launch Windhoek Beer’s Midweek Sessions, a series of intimate live-music experiences designed to encourage South Africans to make time for music, conversation and connection during the week.
Rather than waiting for the weekend, the campaign aims to turn the middle of the week into an opportunity to connect with friends, enjoy live music and share a beer.
When Is the First Windhoek Midweek Session?
The first Windhoek Midweek Session takes place on:
Date: Wednesday, 9 September 2026
Venue: Katy’s Palace Bar
Location: Kramerville, Johannesburg
Performing: 340ml
The evening will feature a live performance from 340ml, giving fans an opportunity to experience the band’s distinctive sound in an intimate setting.
The event follows the group’s return to the stage this year and celebrates the friendship, creative chemistry and musical history that have shaped 340ml.
340ml Becomes 330ml
For the duration of the campaign, 340ml will temporarily become 330ml.
The name change connects the band directly to the return of Windhoek Lager’s 330ml bottle while giving the collaboration a distinctly South African cultural twist.
Tiago Correia-Paulo, guitarist for 340ml, says the temporary name change felt like a natural fit.
“Becoming 330ml for a while felt like a natural fit for this collaboration.”
The campaign brings together two familiar names while highlighting the return of the four musicians to performing together.
Windhoek Lager 330ml Bottle Returns
The return of the Windhoek Lager 330ml bottle follows consumer demand for the familiar format.
The smaller bottle offers another way for consumers to enjoy Windhoek Lager and is positioned around relaxed social occasions and everyday moments of connection.
Windhoek says the 330ml format is back permanently, while the 340ml-to-330ml band transformation is only temporary.
