Fabric London Brings Daniel Avery to South Africa in 2027

Meet the International Electronic Music Headliners Coming to Mzansi with fabric London This January

Johannesburg, 13 October 2026 — Some of the biggest names in contemporary electronic music are heading to South Africa in January 2027 as London clubbing institution fabric returns to Mzansi for two major events in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Presented in partnership with Sub Sahara, the two-night showcase will feature Daniel Avery, Desiree, HAAi and Midland at Johannesburg’s Carfax on Friday, 15 January, before moving to Cape Town’s historic Castle of Good Hope on Saturday, 16 January, where Heidi joins the line-up.

The events will bring together internationally recognised names in house, techno and electronic music, connecting South African audiences with artists who have helped shape London’s influential club scene.

Daniel Avery: A fabric Favourite Makes His South African Debut

British producer and DJ Daniel Avery has maintained a long-standing relationship with fabric, having played at the renowned London club numerous times. He also released FABRICLIVE 66 in 2012.

Best known for his acclaimed album Drone Logic and his work through Phantasy Sound, Avery has developed a distinctive sound that moves between atmospheric techno, house and experimental electronic music.

The January shows will mark his South African debut.

“My first time in South Africa and what better way than with the fabric family. I’ll see you down the front,” says Avery.

Desiree: A Homecoming for the South African DJ

South African-born DJ Desiree brings an important local connection to the international line-up. Having established herself within London’s house and techno scene, she has built a reputation for a genre-spanning sound and developed her own platform, MMINO.

Her Johannesburg appearance will be a homecoming moment as she continues to perform internationally and expand her presence on the global electronic music circuit.

HAAi: One of Electronic Music’s Most Distinctive Voices

Australian-born, London-based artist HAAi has become a distinctive force in contemporary electronic music, moving between house, techno, breaks and experimental sounds.

A regular behind the decks at fabric, she is known for eclectic sets that move beyond traditional genre boundaries. The January events will mark her South African debut, giving local audiences an opportunity to experience her sound live.

Midland: An Eclectic Selector Arrives in Mzansi

British DJ and producer Midland is another artist with a long-standing connection to fabric. Known for unpredictable sets spanning house, techno, electro and other electronic styles, he has established himself as a respected selector within the international club circuit.

His relationship with fabric includes numerous appearances at the London venue and the release of FABRICLIVE 94 in 2017.

January will mark Midland’s South African debut, bringing another internationally respected name to the country’s electronic music scene.

Heidi: A Pioneer of House and Techno

Joining the Cape Town line-up is Heidi, a prominent DJ who has played an influential role in contemporary house and techno culture.

From her early association with Phonica Records to her Jackathon parties and work with BBC Radio 1, Heidi has built a career connecting underground dance music with international audiences.

She will join the second night of fabric’s South African takeover at the Castle of Good Hope.

Two Cities, Two fabric Experiences

Johannesburg: Carfax

On Friday, 15 January 2027, fabric will take over Carfax, the Newtown venue known for its place in Johannesburg’s independent cultural and nightlife scene.

Daniel Avery, Desiree, HAAi and Midland are set to perform, alongside Sama’ Abdulhadi and additional local artists still to be announced.

Cape Town: Castle of Good Hope

On Saturday, 16 January 2027, the showcase moves to Cape Town’s historic Castle of Good Hope.

The 17th-century fort will provide the setting for an electronic music experience featuring fabric’s touring visual production, including large-scale projection mapping across the castle’s walls and courtyards.

Daniel Avery, HAAi, Heidi and Midland will headline the Cape Town event, with further local artists to be announced.

Following the previous edition’s reported sell-out, the 2027 event is set to be another significant date on Cape Town’s summer electronic music calendar.
