Felo Le Tee Stars in ‘Contagious’ Short Film Directed by Nigel Stöckl

Johannesburg, Thursday 1 June 2023 — Musician, DJ and producer Felo Le Tee is set to release a new short film titled ‘Contagious’, a visual project that explores the artist’s relationship with his alter ego while drawing inspiration from his previous EP of the same name.

In partnership with long-time cinema giant Nu Metro, Felo Le Tee selected the Hyde Park location in Johannesburg for an exclusive screening of the short film. The screening brought together celebrities, media personalities, influencers and other notable guests who came out to support the Amapiano star and his latest creative project.

Directed by Nigel Stöckl and Lindokuhle Malinga, Contagious explores the contrast between Felo Le Tee’s two identities: Tsholofelo, his real name, and Felo Le Tee, his stage persona.

The artist’s alter ego, ‘Guluva’, represents a more dominant, confident and powerful side of his personality. In contrast, Tsholofelo is portrayed as calm and grounded, with a strong belief in love and the connections it creates.

That connection is represented through the film’s relationship between the characters, including the beautiful lady portrayed by Anele Zondo, as well as Felo’s deep relationship with music and his craft.

The short film ultimately explores the hold that music has on Felo Le Tee — not only as an artist, but as a person.

“I wanted the film to be a representation of how my music makes me feel. The team and I brought both sides of the alter ego coin into a visual artwork that I hope my fans will like and find intriguing. Music is contagious no matter where you are or who you are, hence it being a universal language and I plan on doing that through this project,” says Felo Le Tee.

Contagious represents another step in Felo Le Tee’s continued growth and versatility as an artist. Known as one of the prominent figures in the Amapiano movement, the producer and entertainer continues to expand his creative identity beyond music and into visual storytelling.

The project also forms part of Felo Le Tee’s wider evolution as an artist and brand, with the short film giving fans another perspective on the person behind the music.

The ‘Contagious’ short film is scheduled to premiere on leading youth and culture television channel Channel O on a date yet to be announced. Following its television premiere, the film will be made available on Felo Le Tee’s YouTube channel.

Fans can also look forward to the upcoming ‘Contagious 2.0’ EP, which is set to be released soon.
