The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the official payment dates for social grants in July 2026. Payments will be processed in the first week of the month, following the agency’s standard staggered schedule.

SASSA has confirmed the following payment dates for July 2026:

SRD R370 Grant Payment Dates – July 2026
The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant of R370 is paid separately from the other social grants. SRD payments are processed later in the month, in batches between 24 July and 31 July 2026 .
Payment dates vary by individual – check your specific date online or via the SASSA status portal. After your batch is processed, funds typically reflect within 2-3 business days.

Important Information for Beneficiaries
Money Remains Safe in Accounts
SASSA has emphasised that beneficiaries do not need to withdraw funds immediately after payment. Money remains safely in accounts once deposited.
What If You Don’t Receive Your Grant?
If you do not receive your grant on the specified date, SASSA advises you to:
- Wait 2-3 days as payments are processed in batches
- Check your status online at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/said
- Visit your nearest SASSA local office for assistance
Postbank Black Card Deadline – 31 August 2026
Postbank has reminded all social grant beneficiaries currently using SASSA Gold Cards to urgently replace them with the new Postbank Black Cards before the 31 August 2026 deadline. The deadline will not be extended.
- Free replacement – no charge for the new card
- Collect from any Postbank site inside Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Spar stores
- Dial *120*355# to locate a nearby card collection site
- Valid ID or temporary ID required
- Cards can be collected from any province – not necessarily where your grant was approved
- Beware of scams – legitimate Black Cards say “Postbank” on the front
