Fresh On The Block: Zee Nxumalo Stars in PUMA H-Street Sneaker Campaign in South Africa
Zee Nxumalo Stars in PUMA H-Street Sneaker Campaign in South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa – 12 March 2026 – There’s a new face on H-Street.
Zee Nxumalo is headlining the South African campaign for the PUMA H-Street, a performance-inspired sneaker silhouette from PUMA that blends track heritage with modern street style.
Inspired by the track and made for today’s streets, the H-Street steps out of the stadium and into everyday neighbourhood life in the new campaign. Set against the familiar backdrop of backyard cookouts and casual hangouts with neighbours, the campaign captures a slightly surreal but relatable take on everyday culture.
A Sneaker Rooted in Heritage
Originally reintroduced last year, PUMA recently unveiled the PUMA H-Street as a bold reinterpretation of its early-2000s track-and-field legacy.
The sneaker traces its roots back to the PUMA Harambee running spike from the late 1990s — an innovative racing silhouette designed for speed and performance. The name “Harambee” comes from a Swahili word meaning “pull together,” symbolising unity and collective strength.

Vintage Design Meets Modern Streetwear
Unveiled in a striking black and silver colourway, the PUMA H-Street features:
- Lightweight mesh upper
- Nostalgic T-shaped toebox
- Low-profile racing silhouette
- Vintage-inspired silver panels
- Bold PUMA wordmark and leaping cat logo on the tongue
The design combines retro athletic aesthetics with contemporary streetwear appeal, making it a versatile sneaker for everyday wear.
Zee Nxumalo’s Take on the H-Street
According to Zee Nxumalo, the sneaker has quickly become a personal favourite.
“The PUMA H-Street has quickly become one of my go-tos. They’re effortless to wear, and most importantly are super comfortable and almost light as air. They’re so cute and one of those shoes you can just throw on with any outfit.”
A Return of the Low-Profile Sneaker
First introduced as a lifestyle sneaker in 2003, the PUMA H-Street has been reworked for 2026, continuing PUMA’s strong momentum in the low-profile sneaker category.
The updated design reinforces the brand’s position at the intersection of sport, culture and fashion, a space where performance heritage meets modern lifestyle trends.
